Israel-A Place to Visit
I have wanted, to varying degrees, to visit the land of Israel for a number of years. (it seemed good to write this now for two reasons: one because Israel was re-established as a nation in 1948, on May 14, a few years after WWII, by Great Britain; and because Israel could be a tourist destination when it's not too dangerous to travel )
Israel is a special nation, 'started' by God from the Patriarch Jacob, renamed Israel, "Prince of Israel'
The land of Israel has a number of important sites: Jerusalem's King David Hotel, in honor of one of Israel's greatest kings. There is also the remains of Solomons' Temple, what is commonly called the Wailing Wall, where Jews stick papers which have prayers written on them. The Temple was the Jews/Hebrews' central place of worship of the One True God. However, God doesn't physically dwell in the temple for He is a Spirit, who is everywhere at once, what Christians call Omnipresence.
And, of course, there's Calvary, (also called Golgotha, Place of the Skull, and outside Jerusalem's walls) the site of Jesus' ultimate Sacrifice as the Lamb of God as declared in John 1:29, and the Empty Tomb, not too far from Calvary.
